Morgen vs Fantastical: Which Calendar Fits Your Workday?

Choose Morgen if your main problem is turning tasks from several apps into a workable schedule. Choose Fantastical if you want a better way to see your calendars, add events, and manage meetings and tasks together.

Both can help you plan time for work. The useful distinction is how much help you need deciding where that work belongs.

The differences that matter

Morgen: useful when your tasks live in several places

Imagine your meetings are in Google Calendar, project work is in Linear, and personal tasks are in Todoist. Before planning the day, you need to see those commitments together.

Morgen lists calendar connections including Google, Outlook, iCloud, Fastmail, and CalDAV, alongside task integrations such as Todoist, Notion, Linear, ClickUp, and Microsoft To Do. Its AI Planner adds another layer. You can create “Frames” for different kinds of work, generate a proposed schedule, and adjust it before approval. That is a meaningful reason to pay for Morgen if planning across several systems is the part of your day that keeps breaking. It is less compelling if you mostly need a clearer view of appointments that are already scheduled.

Fantastical: useful when the calendar is already your home base

Fantastical brings existing calendar accounts into a common interface and lets you create events or tasks with natural language. Calendar Sets can separate the calendars you want to see in different contexts. Its current platform list includes Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro. Fantastical.

Do not rule it out for time blocking. Flexibits documents task durations that display in Day and Week views, so “Fantastical cannot time block” would be an inaccurate comparison. What do they cost?

The prices below are the individual web plans observed on September 19, 2026, in USD. Taxes, local currency, app-store billing, and later price changes can affect checkout.

On annual billing, the difference between these individual plans is $123 a year. Pay that difference for a workflow you will use, such as planning work from several task systems. A longer feature list is not a reason by itself.

Try the same awkward Tuesday in both apps

Use a real day with a few constraints, rather than an empty demo calendar:

First, connect only the calendars and task sources needed for this day. Schedule the proposal, replies, and travel buffer. Then move the call to the time you wanted for the proposal.

Look at three things:

1. Can you tell what changed? A schedule is less helpful if you have to inspect every block to understand it.

2. How much work does recovery take? Count the decisions and edits you make after moving the meeting.

3. Does completion stay consistent? Finish one imported task and check its original app. Check the behavior of your actual integration rather than assuming it.

Morgen is the stronger candidate if you want help building and revising that plan. Fantastical is the stronger candidate if the calendar remains easy to manage and manual task blocks are enough.
