Your privacy is important to us. It is Ellie policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you through our app and website.

We only ask for personal information when we truly need it to provide a service to you. We collect it by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent. We also let you know why we’re collecting it and how it will be used.

We only retain collected information for as long as necessary to provide you with your requested service. What data we store, we’ll protect within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

We don’t share any personally identifying information publicly or with third-parties, except when required to by law.

Our app may link to external sites that are not operated by us. Please be aware that we have no control over the content and practices of these sites, and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy policies.

You are free to refuse our request for your personal information, with the understanding that we may be unable to provide you with some of your desired services.

Google account, calendar and contacts data

Connecting Google is optional. When you connect a Google account, Ellie accesses its email address to identify the connected account. With your permission, Ellie reads your calendar list and calendar events so you can choose calendars and view your schedule. Ellie also creates, updates or deletes calendar events when you use the corresponding scheduling features. Event information can include titles, times, descriptions, locations and attendee details.

If you choose to enable contact suggestions, Ellie requests additional, read-only access to your saved Google Contacts, automatically saved Other Contacts, and your Google Workspace directory where your organization permits access. Ellie processes names, email addresses and available profile photo URLs to suggest attendees when you search by name or email. These permissions do not allow Ellie to create, edit or delete contacts. Suggestions may also come from attendees on your connected calendar events. You choose which people to add to an event.

Ellie’s servers process Google API requests and store the connected account information and authorization credentials needed to keep the integration working. Contact suggestions are cached locally in your browser, including names, email addresses, available photo URLs and their source, so searches can respond quickly. Locally cached data may remain after you disconnect Google; clearing Ellie’s site data in your browser removes that browser’s cache. Disconnecting or revoking authorization stops future access under that authorization, but does not itself guarantee removal of data already cached on a device. Google data is used to provide the calendar and attendee-suggestion features you enable. When you save an event with attendees, their names or email addresses are included in the event sent to Google Calendar. You can revoke Ellie’s access through your Google Account’s third-party connections settings or disconnect the account in Ellie. You can use Ellie’s other planning features without connecting Google.

Ellie’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
